KFC Shakes Up Its Menu with Hot Honey Collaboration to Take on Popeyes

KFC is teaming up with a popular hot honey brand to bring a bold new dish to its menu this year. Starting February 9, customers will be able to enjoy fried chicken drizzled with Mike’s Hot Honey—a collaboration that's only available for a limited time.

The fast food chain is calling the new dish a "mouthwatering, unforgettable" twist on its iconic chicken, aiming to compete with similar offerings from other chains like Popeyes. With a sweet and spicy kick, this new chicken combo is set to arrive just in time for the Super Bowl.

For Super Bowl Sunday, fans can get the Mike’s Hot Honey fried chicken exclusively through delivery services like DoorDash, GrubHub, and Uber Eats. After the big game, the dish will be available starting February 10 at all 4,151 KFC locations across the country and through the KFC mobile app.

Catherine Tan-Gillespie, KFC's Chief Marketing Officer, said the collaboration made perfect sense. "Combining KFC's crispy fried chicken with the bold, spicy sweetness of Mike's Hot Honey is pure food magic," she said.

Mike Hurtz, the founder of Mike’s Hot Honey, expressed his excitement over the partnership. "Growing up, KFC’s fried chicken was a favorite, and Mike's Hot Honey was one of the first products I created. It’s a dream come true to pair them together," he said. "The sweet heat of our honey is the perfect complement to KFC's Original Recipe chicken."

The Delicious New Offerings

KFC's hot honey combo comes with a variety of meal options, starting with two $7 box meals and even a larger $25 box. The first option is the Three-Piece Original Recipe Tenders, where you get KFC’s famous Original Recipe tenders topped with a sweet-and-spicy drizzle of Mike’s Hot Honey, plus a side and a buttery biscuit.

The second option is the Two-Piece Fried Chicken meal, which includes two pieces of KFC’s juicy fried chicken, coated in either Original Recipe or Extra Crispy. These are drizzled with Mike’s Hot Honey and come with a side and a biscuit.

Lastly, for the bigger appetites, there’s the $25 Fan Favorite's Box, which includes four pieces of fried chicken with Mike’s Hot Honey, a 12-piece chicken nugget, Secret Recipe fries, four buttery biscuits, and a choice of four sauces, including a side of Mike’s Hot Honey.

More Ways to Enjoy the Sweet Heat

If you’re a fan of Mike’s Hot Honey, you’ll be happy to know it can also be purchased separately to drizzle on your nuggets, tenders, sandwiches, or any other KFC items—while supplies last.

For those celebrating Valentine’s Day, KFC is also offering $0 delivery fees between February 14 and February 20. To take advantage of this, orders must be made through the KFC website or app.
