‘BAD TIMING’: Kylie Jenner Slammed for ‘Tone Deaf’ Sprinter Vodka Soda Ad Amid LA Wildfires

Kylie Jenner is facing backlash from fans after posting an advertisement for her Sprinter vodka soda brand, which many have deemed "tone deaf" and "offensive," given the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles. The ad features a box of the vodka soda placed next to a roaring log burner, with the caption: "Warming up for the weekend."

While the ad was posted before the wildfires began devastating parts of LA, many fans have criticized Kylie for keeping it online after the tragedy unfolded. The wildfires have caused significant destruction in the area, and the timing of the ad, which features a fire as a focal point, has left many feeling uncomfortable and angry. Despite the outcry, the ad remains live on the Sprinter Instagram account, leading followers to accuse Kylie and her team of being insensitive.

One user on Reddit shared a screenshot of the ad, writing, "Oh my f***ing God. And the award for 'Bad Taste & Timing' goes to...." They also included a comment from Instagram (which has since been deleted), asking, "Are you SERIOUS right now? 'Warming up for the weekend'... with a damn [fire emoji] crackling in the background. Annnnnddd. This NEVER occurred to you guys this might be the tinnnnniest bit...oh....I don't know....IN BAD TASTE RIGHT NOW?"

Other Reddit users echoed similar sentiments, with one commenting, "I mean girl take this down. Tone deaf at best." Another added, “I hope this is it for them!!! Let this California tragedy be the end of the Karjenners.” A third user was equally appalled, exclaiming, "SHE FING DIDN'T. HOLY F."

Some fans defended Kylie, however, arguing that the outrage was misplaced. Are we supposed to pretend fire doesn’t exist for the foreseeable future? I doubt people who actually lost homes, etc., in the fires are too worried about an influencer posting a photo of a fireplace.”

However, the backlash didn't stop there. Kylie has also faced criticism for her excessive private jet usage, with reports showing she’s taken eight private jet flights since the wildfires began. This comes as a continuation of previous criticisms regarding her environmental footprint. Her $72 million Bombardier Global 7500 jet has made 11 flights in 2025, including three on January 16 alone.

Despite the ongoing criticism of her private jet travel, Kylie posted a message on her Kylie Cosmetics Instagram account, pledging to donate “skincare, body, hair, and makeup products” to fire victims in Altadena, LA. In the post, she expressed her heartbreak over the fires: “We are truly heartbroken to see the devastation caused by the fires in Los Angeles. Watching so many people forced to evacuate and hearing the stories of those who have lost everything is deeply saddening and difficult to comprehend.”

However, this gesture did little to quell the outrage. Many of her followers pointed out the irony of her luxury lifestyle in Paris with boyfriend Timothée Chalamet while promoting a donation to fire victims.with your lotion, is horrific. Use your power accordingly.”

As Kylie faces mounting criticism for both her tone-deaf ad and lavish lifestyle, it remains to be seen how the backlash will impact her public image and brand. While she has acknowledged the devastation of the wildfires, many fans feel her actions fail to match her words.
